Open Call : Artist based in Hokkaido

Open Port Club will hold an artist residency program in Sapporo, inviting 2 artists based in Berlin, from the end of August to early September of 2017. One participant will be selected from the Incubator program hosted by Berlin Community Radio. The second participant will be selected by Open Port Club through open applications. This program also invites 1 artist based in Hokkaido. The program offers an opportunity to engage in music session/production with the participating artists. Through this program, we aim to create a continued exchange of artists and music scenes between Berlin and Sapporo.

The artist from Hokkaido will be selected through open applications. The applicant must be based in Sapporo or Hokkaido, and must be producing original music, primarily based in electronic music.

Application requirements and guidelines

August 30 - September 8, 2017

Requirements:
-Applicant must be at least 20 years of age
-Applicant is a solo artist currently based in Hokkaido
-Applicant must be producing original music, primarily based in electronic music.
-Applicant agrees to the purpose of Open Port Club and is willing to contribute to the development of music culture exchange between Berlin and Sapporo
-Applicant must be able to speak daily conversations in English
-Applicant must be healthy, physically and mentally, and must be able to arrange for everyday meals, laundry, cleaning needed for everyday life.
-Applicant agrees to the public exposure of behind-the-scenes and production scenes, for the purpose of archiving and promotions
-Applicant must be able to visit Sapporo again for the period of October 12 - 15, 2017. (Transportation fee will be covered by Open Port Club)

Provisions:
-All transportation expenses between home and Sapporo
-Accommodation and aid for living expenses
-Announcement of the outcome (October 2017, in Sapporo)
-Media exposure in Groove, Berlin Community Radio, FM Northwave (Sapporo)
-The opportunity to record in Geimori Recording Studio

-Those who have ability to forge a career in music
-Originality and novelty in their work
-Active approach to society through performances
